Black Ops Cold War joins Game Pass as ten games prepare to leave

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War joins Xbox Game Pass on September 8. It is available through cloud, console, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass members.

The same update gives players a September 15 deadline for ten departing games. If anything on the list is already in your backlog, this is the useful part of the announcement.

Leaving September 15

• Commandos: Origins — cloud, console, and PC

• Cricket 24 — cloud, console, and PC

• Cyberpunk 2077 — cloud and console

• Dead Cells — cloud, console, and PC

• Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor — cloud, console, and PC

• Frostpunk 2 — PC

• Mullet MadJack — cloud, console, and PC

• Spiritfarer — cloud, console, and PC

• Superliminal — cloud, console, and PC

• Train Sim World 5 — cloud, console, and PC

Cyberpunk 2077 is listed for cloud and console in Xbox’s announcement, without a PC departure. The platform details matter if you use Game Pass on more than one device.

What to prioritize

A September 15 removal date leaves about a week from the start of this wave. Shorter games or unfinished saves are the practical targets. Starting a long role-playing game this close to removal only makes sense if you plan to buy it or already own it elsewhere.

More additions this month

The Royal Writ and Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage arrive September 10. RuneScape: Dragonwilds follows September 15. Xbox lists all three for Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass.

Availability can vary by platform and region, so check the Game Pass app before downloading.
